The humans have decided that werewolves and vampires have overstayed their welcome. They hunt them constantly using ghost as spies if they choose to help, and if not they are killed as well. Witches and Warlocks work for both sides, which ever pays more at the current time. Mummies have allied themselves with the werewolves and vampires, fully aware that they may be next. The hybrids are looking out for themselves, trying to remain hidden, yet fighting anyone who threatens their security. As the Solar Eclipse draws near, so does the time for choosing. Will there ever be peace? Will the prey become the predator? Or will the predator finally over run the prey?

After almost a year, she could hardly believe it. Life had been dull before he came along, and after... it was duller still. And it seemed to be almost unbearable. He left, and life continued in a listless fashion, just floating down through a mire of sadness and anger. All he left was a note, and she had secretly held onto it for all this time. She had a small, secret hope, and it somehow got her through her finals and the end of the year at that hopeless school. Even when her brother had left and Kami as well, she had been left with her younger brother and stepsister to defend the now torn apart apartment from those things. And yet when it all seemed to be the end, he showed up out of nowhere, like a phantom out of the mist. Kat had to admit though, he made perfect timing as usual.
When Sully never made it home, she sent Toki and Alice to do what they wanted in the apartment (alice somewhat grudgingly) and she and Hannibal agreed to meet in the park. She now sat in the shade of a willow, its branches swaying in the breeze. It seemed so long, and she could hardly remember a time her heart fluttered this much. When they had met, Katrina was just a spoiled princess, and Hannibal... well, he seemed cold and distant at best. Their first meeting was less than pleasant, but somehow they grew towards each other. Soon they were actually close enough to share a few secrets... but he left mysteriously, and left just the note. It actually seemed to shatter her. Despite the fact he was a human, Katrina never got as close with anyone, not even her own pack.
And now he returned. She had so many questions for him, and they all roiled and raged in her head until she thought she would burst from it all. But she was glad nonethless that he had returned. Carving meaningless lines into the tree's trunk with her dagger- in fact the very same dagger she embedded in his arm that day. The twisted momento was all she really held onto when she discarded everything. Teh princessa ct she kept up when she returned to her family had all been an act. The true reason she got into the fights with Alice was because she wanted to feel pain again, and she didn't care who was on the receiving end of her own blows, and became dismayed further when Toki took the hits. But it no longer mattered. He would show up, and they would discuss it all... maybe. He was still, after all, elusive to say the least.

he made her wait a long time, not on purpose but because he had work to attend to. this was his vacation, yes, but hannibal could hardly pull himself away from his work....even for katrina. he was obsessed, losing himself completely the day his little sister died. she was slaughtered and hannibal would give his last breath to track down and kill every man that had been involved in her murder. today, hannibal wore dark loose jeans, a plain black tee and despite the day's warmth- a long black overcoat. even just to meet up with katrina, he carried three pistols, eleven fighting knives and even a grenade and a smoke bomb. hannibal's face was known to many people, he murdered at least two thousand people in this last year alone and because of that he tended to have a lot of enemies constantly following him. keeping the collar of his coat up and his head ducked low, his face was nearly completely hidden to the people in the park.
hannibal had yet to notice katrina sitting alone, mainly because his gaze was locked on his combat boots and his cell phone was pressed to his ear. 'tomorrow. you will be head sniper, you are to kill the group sent to make peace in europe. we're making a big profit on their civil war.' the women's voice on the other end spoke quickly. hannibal gave a small nod "how many?" he muttered. 'seventeen. be here at 0400 hours, your plane leaves soon after that. and leave the girl hannibal. if she is not killed in the crossfires, we will have to kill her' the women replied. again, hannibal nodded. "she knows nothing. she's nothing but a civilian ma'am." he hated talking about katrina like that, but if he had told them anything else...his next target would be her. then a thought hit him. could he really kill katrina? it would be easy, seeings that she trusted him now. but could he really do it...even if it meant justice for his dead sister? the answer was no, even the first day he met her he was planning on slitting her throat that night and he couldn't do it. when facing katrina, hannibal was weak...he could never bring himself to harm her. 'hannibal, just remember that we are watching. and with that the female hung up. his steel- gray gaze narrowed as he snapped the small cell phone shut. the cell phone that he told katrina he didn't have. now what? he'd disappear again for nearly a week....what would he tell katrina?
pausing, his gaze rose to find katrina's lithe form underneath the shade of a nearby tree. instantly, butterflies filled his stomach and he felt weak in the knees. he always got this feeling the instant his gaze landed on her, even when they first met..he was attracted to her. he watched silently from afar as she mindlessly carved into the tree, his thoughts running wild. what would he tell her..'hey, yeah sorry im going to cause a war in western europe. i'll watch as my men rape the women and burn homes. i'll be home in a week.' he was nothing but a monster. he thought himself a hollow monster until he met katrina, and now he was worse than a hollow monster........he was a monster with a heart and soul. still a part of him loved murder and mayhem, part of him was still drawn to destruction just as he was drawn to this small female. it was frustrating. even when he was on assignments, his mind always wandered back to katrina. she would be the death of him yet.
his heart racing and his palms starting to sweat, hannibal swallowed hard and then silently made his way to the one thing that he had ever cared about in nineteen years. katrina was unlike any female he had ever met, she didn't fear him and she was just as attracted to weapons as he was. he was standing beside her before he had the chance to compose all of his thoughts. with a sharp intake of breath, his troubled gaze met that of hers. he would tell her straight off, that way she wasn't blindsided. he had never really admitted his love for her, though he had said many sweet words...there was never an 'i love you' from hannibal. he was unsure he could ever really say the words. "hello, sweetheart." he smiled, though it never really met his eyes, his dimples showed and to anyone that didn't know hannibal closely would think it was a real smile. he sensed that she had many questions for him, and again his self loathing came back tenfold. he would have to lie to her again. he didn't sit down this time- guessing that katrina would be pretty pissed off once he announced that he'd be running off again.
his gaze now fell on the dagger in her hand. he knew damned well that she knew how to use it, the scar on his forearm proved that much. if she decided to use it on him once again, he didn't blame her. in fact, she should cut him down where he stood- both for being a weak creature that would always come crawling back to her..even if it was against her wishes and for being the murderous bloodthirsty monster that he was. he was pathetic and deserved the end of her blade, her anger. she didn't deserve the hurt he caused her almost daily. with a heavy sigh, he sat down beside her. before he spoke again, he gave her a small kiss...though it was nothing compared to the way he usually kissed her....to the way he wanted to kiss her or to the way she deserved to be kissed. "listen sweetheart, i know you have a lot of questions. i do too. but you need to know that i have to leave again, tomorrow morning around four a.m. i will have to leave for a week on business. thats all i can tell you- business is business. i will return to you as soon as i possibly can. but-" he broke off. what else was there to say? hey, i know i just got back but im leaving agian...please wait for me? perhaps he should beg her? it was everything he hated, but he would do it for katrina. he would do anything for her.
his gaze fell. "we have-" he glanced down at his watch reading 18:30. 6:30 huh? "exactly nine hours before i have to leave." his gaze, now tinged with amber, searched her face in hopes that she would be willing to spend the last hours with him rather then fighting him. "i will be willing to do anything, katrina........that is if you still wish to have me here." he added. god, he was a real piece of shit. even with his beloved by his side- he was sneaking off again to kill. he was waisting his precious time with the only creature he ever loved wholly. he just hoped that she'd still be here and okay when he came back. he wouldn't be surprise if she finally abandoned hope of him staying around for long.

She sat in wait beneath the tree, feeling the roiling emotions while she did so. He was gone for so long, she began to worry. Did he move on? Did he find someone better to replace her? She was disraught, but logic came to her rescue. If he did find someone else, why would he have returned and saved her like he did? She began to feel just a bit better, but she still stressed from it all... She missed him, and this wait seemed to make Katrina miss him even more.
She kept on defacing the tree, trying to distract herself from her emotions. She wanted to cry, to scream, to laugh, to shift into her monstrous form and rip everyrthign to shreds. She had such a hard time trying to keep from snivelling and sobbing, she hated these weak feelings. One of the things they seemed to share in common was a low tolerance for weak lifeforms. And she could barely keep her act together long enough for him to show up. Great.
The wind blew, and the leaves sighed, he hair blowing in sync with the leaves, when a scent came to her nostrils- his scent. She quickly got a grip on herself. Whenever he was near, he always seemed to give her strength. Soon Hannibal came into view, though with more firepower than she ever remembered him carrying. Kat knew he always carried weapons on him, that's one of the things that drew them together. That and their sick sense of humor. One of the few times they spent together was during a P.E. class, and they spent the time terrorizing the class with the archery equipment.
As he spoke, Kat noticed how it wasn't how he usually acted. His eyes lacked the smile plastered on his face, the first indicator of something wrong. And the kiss couldn't even compare to some of the ones from before. She greeted him back: "Hi yourself, handsome." She smiled a legitimate one to a passerby, but her eyes showed worry and suspicion.
When he spoke again, she listened. Already he was leaving again. But she was certain now that he wasn't cheating. She had been cheated on twice before, and though Hannibal's actions were suspicious, he did not exhibit the signs. She sighed. But what was a week? Especilly when compared to a year.. but it was still shocking. He wasn't even here for a full day, and now he's being called off. but, she held onto him this long, she didn't mind a week. She thought for a moment before replying. "if I still wish to have you here? My my, you've gone soft during this year, haven't you?" She grinned wickedly, and continued. "anything hmm? how about a real greeting?" With that she grabbed hiim by the back of his hair and pulled him down into a fiery passionate kiss.

her words took him by surprise, his gaze momentarily shining in utter confusion. her voice was careful, but there was no hint of anger- something he was sure would have came up before anything else. he had thought she would attack him, or at least give him a tongue lashing he'd not soon forget. hm, perhaps he wasn't the only one going soft these days.
the instant her lips met his own, his arm wrapped around her waist pulling her against his hard chest. his free hand went up, carefully lifting her chin to deepen the kiss. he found himself fighting back a soft moan- it had been so long since they had last kissed like this. his entire body was tight and as wound as a bow string, his muscles and his organ jumping in response to her. and he hated himself. the instant he realized his body's reaction to her, he pulled out of the kiss...disgusted with himself. with a soft groan, he refused to look at her. oh? was that what he wanted, a quick fuck and leave her? he turned away from her, panting still. his own gaze showed his self loathing. he wanted to beat himself silly for his colorful thoughts.
his gaze, now a dark coal gray, fell as he turned back to katrina. perhaps she had missed his body's reaction to her kiss, perhaps she hadn't noticed that he was about to take her right there and now. chewing on his bottom lip, he slowly shook his head. "i-" no. he hated the weak and now it seemed that he was just another helpless kid. he forced himself to look at her now, though his gaze listless now. he forced a weak grin to his features "it would seem that i am not the only one who grows soft, sweetheart." remarking on the fact that he wasn't attacked by her blade- nay, it was something more enticing then weapons...it was her body. at that thought, his grin turned very real. he didn't make a move to touch her again though, his body still wound tight after their last breif encounter.
with a small growl he shook his head. "i'm sorry." this time he spoke of his body's reaction to her. with all that they had done back at the school, they had never done anything more then quick..stolen kisses in the dark. he wanted her- he wouldn't deny that..but he refused to take her now when he had to leave soon after. he wouldn't- couldn't..live with himself he had his way with her now and then left her. what if he got himself killed on this mission? then what? and if he got her pregnant on this coupling- he would have a bastard. damn him!
he shook his head violently now, his arms pushing her away gently until she was arm's length away from him. "i am sorry sweetheart. i best not-...nay, i cannot." he shook his head slightly. his scottish brogue showing completely through his voice now, hinting at his discomfort even more. he always fought hard to hide his origins from everybody, but at times of great stress or pain it shone through without his permission. his tongue ran along his suddenly dry lips as his gaze locked on her. he had gone to long without a woman, he told himself- remembering how he had refused many livid offers from countless girls on his last journey. no, he remarked to himself again, with a soft smile that showed his dimples. he had been faithful to katrina, another first for him. he guessed that he would never be able to fully please himself with anyone else since he had met katrina.
he felt like laughing despite himself, perhaps he had finally met his match. his gaze now roamed over her body before he could ever really stop himself. with a small grin, he shook his head again. "perhaps, female- i should be walking away now, before i take ye away and have my way with ye." his grin suddenly turning very lecherous at the thought of that. he couldn't allow himself to take her, but he couldn't allow himself to walk away from her again. with a sharp intake of breath, he closed his eyes. "nay. what do ye have planned for today? a distraction would be good right about now." he need a distraction, right now, his body still reaction to her. no one could distract him like she could. now, he forced himself to get a hold of himself. with another deep intake of air, his gaze still dark, locked with that of hers. it was her day, he would go along with anything she wanted today.

Kat wanted him desperately now, and it was in more ways than one. The kiss was perfect.. no, more than perfect. Until he pulled out just then. Her face was going from fiery passion to fiery rage very swiftly now. As he spoke, Kat was half tempted to pull Hannibal back down and make him do her will.. And then he said he was sorry. Sorry?! Oh he was going to be sorry soon enough.
His scottish accent was strange to her ears, but she brushed it off. She knew he still kept secrets from her, such as why he had to leave so soon. But right now, it only fueled her rage, and she exploded on him. "Sorry?! You're going to be sorry, Hannibal!" she shouted, her own northern accent coming into her voice, making it booming and commanding. "How dare you call me soft!! I ought to rip your tongue out right now!" She was fuming now. More so than ever. But she wasn't really mad at him.. No, she was mad at the fact that he didn't want to do with her what she wanted to do with him. Bastard.
She pulled the dagger and tackled him to the ground, holding the blade to his throat. "Well now you lost your chance, lad. Because we are going to do this even if I have to knock you out and drag you to bed!" She was panting after this. She really wanted him, and he wasn't going to squirrel out of this now. Not after a year of silence! "What I had planned today is what you're trying to back out of! No, dammit. I will have you, and I don't care what you have to say to that!" She was beginning to like this dominance over him. If they did make it to bed, perhaps she'd have to torture him some, not just pschologically, but also physically.

[[poor hannibal. katrina's going to kill him after this.]]
well, this was new. very new and....confusing. for a moment, hannibal did nothing but narrow his eyes, assessing the situation. he wanted to smile, and then give katrina exactly what she wanted as many times as he could before he left her. but he could not. he was torn between his sudden need of her and his new need to avoid harming her in anyway. he couldn't....wouldn't allow himself to go through with this, even if katrina would be pissed. another thought came to mind, what if she left him because of this? his gaze narrowed again, sifting though the answers. if she left now, then he wouldn't hurt her. he wouldn't go through with this, get her pregnant and then leave and die somewhere in europe. he wouldn't! a mixture of a low, dangerous growl and a helpless moan escaped his throat.
damn him! he actually liked getting tackled, the dagger to his throat only fed his desire for her. he actually loved the smell of metal on flesh, the feel of the cold blade ready to slit his throat. his realization of his brought a twisted, lecherous grin. hannibal had always loved the darker things in life, like the color of freshly spilled blood, the look in his enemy's eyes when they realized they were dying, weapons and twisted women. wait, make that woman- he had his share of females, but none of them had managed to do anything that katrina did. if it were anyone else that had him pinned this way, he would have kill them.
she was more then just furious at him right now, and he knew it- which only made his body leap even more. his muscles twitching, ready for him to leap into action. he laughed then, a low, dangerous laugh that made the passerby blood run cold.
another low laugh. his hands flew from being pinned at his side to resting on her hips. then after forcing himself to go completely still, he reversed the pin. he had used all of his black ops and special forces training to do so, though her dagger did cut into his throat during the transfer- it was only flesh.
another wicked grin aimed down at katrina. his hands still locked on her hips, his gaze slowly sliding down the rest of her body. instantly his groin was fighting the seams of his pants, ready to be free and ready to sink into her body this instant. another growl as he fought the losing battle with himself. "aye?" his voice now reduced to a dry rasp. "and what you ye wish, lass? for me to take ye right here, on lookers and all?" his voice darkened, as did his gaze. "did ye wish for that wee tummy of yours to swell with babe? and if i die during this week trip? then what? you wish to birth a bastard?" he spat. there, that should stir a fire in her. when he was done with this, she would wish him dead rather then what her thoughts were leading to now. still, he wanted nothing more then to sink into her right now- screw the onlookers and the laws. he ground his teeth together again, he had already said to much- but he could say no more.
his gaze softened, despite his sudden rage. shaking his head again, strands of hair falling loose on his forehead. "wait, lass. there will be time when i get back"...if i get back. with that he forced himself to stand, though his hands were still trembling- hell, his entire body was trembling with it's need for katrina and his organ was still swollen, fighting the seams of his jeans. with another moan/growl cross, he turned to face her. "now if you excuse me, i'm going to return to my hotel for a cold shower." a small grin tugged at the corners of his mouth as he said this. he hated himself for turning away from her, in fact he would give anything to give into her now. but he would not condemn her. with a gruff nod, he turned and started back for his hotel, though something told him that he wouldn't be alone for long.
he was half way to the park's entrance when his phone rang again. cursing, he pulled it out of his pocket and with a growl he answered "and what would the agency want now?!" he spat, still panting and trembling from his encounter with katrina. 'cool it, hannibal.' a calm, female's voice answered. 'we just called to remind you to watch what you say to the female. you don't want her to end up like your sister, do you?' his gaze narrowed as a fresh pain shot through his body. they had killed her in order to protect their secrets. "if you even look at the female wrong, i will hunt you all down." the female on the other end laughed, and with that hung up- ending the call there. hannibal cursed again, his lust and desire instantly replaced with a cold rage. with that, he left the park, aiming for his apartment and that cold shower.

[[Perhaps... just read, lol]]
Hannibal was confusing her, and there was nothing more Kat hated than to be confused. She knew he wanted what she was offering. She knew he knew it. But why was he being like this? It made no sense and it made her a bit more angry with him, to put it mildly. SHe didn't exactly want for her dagger to slice into his neck, but it was his fault at that poitn and he wasn't bleeding to bad when he reversed the pin.
Kat was expecting (and hoping) that he would in fact take her. But again he suprised and confused her. It was more than obvious that their feeling were mutual, just from Kat's view of his trousers and the hard-on evident beneath them. She looked back into his face, seeing his desire and smelling it eminate off him. But what he was now saying so coldly caught her off guard. She stopped moving completely. If he died? What was it he did when he was gone away on these trips? Kat was still compeltely frozen to where she lay, fuming still. All these questions and no answers to quench them.
She was close to tears when he changed his tone and his face softened. Why was he like this! When he got up and left her, she didn't follow, knowing her voice would break and she would start weeping like a spoiled child. Instead, she remained silent and stayed where she lay. SHe sat up and brushed the dirt from her back, glaring daggers at whatever onlookers were still watching. fuck them, she thought, and fuck him for being such an arrogant prick!
She sat, gazing at her dagger again, trying to figure out what to do, her eyes following the remaining rivulet of blood that was caught still on the blade's sharp edge as she made it chase the other minute drops. She was still very angry with Hannibal- but at the same time wished that she could spend the last few hours with him before he left her again. But what he said still confused her... if he died... What was it he did on those trips of his? She shook her head, and after wiping the blood onto the grass, began to follow him to his hotel, to attempt to speak to him, try and reason with him.

it took him nearly five blocks to realize that he was being followed by katrina. his gaze narrowed, a small growl escaping his throat, his hands balling into tight fists. she should have stayed at the damned park! he couldn't give her answers, and he couldn't- well, he shouldn't, give her what she was after tonight. he forced himself to ignore her presence nearly a block behind him, focusing his attention on his surroundings. if he let himself think about her now, he would miss any other followers. with that thought, his gaze racked his surroundings again- seeing nothing suspicious he continued toward his hotel. he should have led her on some wild chase and then lost her somewhere, but he couldn't. he hated talking, mostly because he had so many damned secrets that he needed to hide, but for her he would make an exception. he imagined that she'd be pretty damned confused right about now and that she would be itching for answers, hell for even a single, encoded answer. he sighed, his gaze sweeping the area again- he owed her this. she deserved answers.
he got to his hotel room with a bit of time to spare before she'd come to him. with a scowl, he grabbed a small 'bug' detector. sweeping the room three times before he sighed and stashed the small device in the top door of the dresser. he hated down time, it allowed too much thinking. a thousand thoughts raced through his mind all at the same time, and none of them good. glancing around the room, a small grin pulled at the corners of his mouth. his entire room was covered in over three hundred diffrent weapons and explosives- katrina would love that. his grin disappeared, his gaze dopping to the floor as he sat down on the corner of his bed.
what would he tell her? he wanted to tell her everything, to admit that he was really a monster. he was almost positive that the agency had found a way to listen, even if he did sweep for bugs already. every word he said to her put her another step closer to her violent death. every second he spent with her only brought her another step closer to the danger that was his life. he was torn in half, he should leave her in order to keep her safe but at the same time, he didn't know if he had the strength to do it. he doubted that he could even stay away from her for long. after all, since they had been together, hannibal had noticed how his live had completely shifted....katrina was all he had now. she was the only thing that kept him from slipping into the total darkness that consumed him everytime he started a mission.
another low growl as he pulled himself to his feet, streching his stiff muscles before opening the door and leaning in the doorway. katrina should be here any minute now, and he would try to answer her answers as vaugely as possible in order to keep her safe and.....he would give her what she wanted. she deserved so much more then himself.

Katrina had little to no difficulty following after Hannibal. Even though his hotel was in the more crowded part of town, she could easily distinguish his scent from everyone else's. Besides, no one reeked of blood and death like Hannibal did, which was another reason why Kat hadn't given up on him. She followed him for several streets and blocks, never catching sight of him, but knowing he was close by. She didn't tire, couldn't get so tired so easily, because she was accustomed to having to track down prey for long tracks of time. Also, she didn't allow the endless barrage of questions to crowd her mind, for it would impair her greatly to the point where following a straight line would be difficult. She crammed it in the back of her mind, hoping it wouldn't explode when she caught up to him.
She finally made it to the hotel, a nice, ritzy place that made her stop and look. SHe had an idea that Hannibal had some respectable income but this was nuts! Kat sighed and continued on, pushing the door open and entering. Completely ignoring the front clerk that attempted to greet her, she walked down one of the hallways, still able to track Hannibal's scent through the human infested building. She went through a maze of hallways and corridors, up and down a few flights of stairs before she finally came to a room that was almost completely secluded from the rest of the rooms in the hotel. Typical Hannibal would want his room far away from the others.
She mustered up her courage and took a deep breath before approaching the door. What would she say? That she didn't care if he had to leave she just wanted to have a quick fuck before he left her again, maybe forever? That she didn't care for the consequences and would do anything for him? She sighed exasperately. She couldn't even collect her own damn thoughts to save her life, and unknowingly, she just might have to. She stopped, and decided to clear her mind of her unwanted thoughts before she continued on and wound up screwing up again. With a newfound calm state of mind, she knocked in the door, hoping he would open it and at least talk to her.

stormy gaze closed against the white walls of the hotel room- a dagger closed in each fist. his entire body was still trembling from his encounter with katrina in the park. the agency now knew that she had a major effect on him as well, judging by the tone of his handler's voice when she last called him. it was no secret that his handler had wanted him ever since he had started, they had trained together and even had a few spy missions together- so it didn't surprise him that the female sounded hurt when she spoke about katrina. with a loud growl, the threw the daggers at the door of his room, both hitting a small black circle that had been drawn on the white paint of the door. shaking his head violently, trying to clear his thoughts...or just trying to end them completely- hannibal started for the bathroom of the hotel room.
the bathroom could have been a room itself, with a four person hot tub, a six person shower and its own smaller room for the toilet. turning the knob of the shower to hot, he began removing his clothes. leaving his clothing in a heap on the bathroom floor, with all of his hidden weapons carefully laid out on the counter of the bathroom, he stepped in the shower. instantly, the hot water battered his overly tense muscles...bringing a small moan from hannibal. he couldn't remember the last time he had been so worked up about something, or the last time that a hot shower didn't even help his tense muscles. katrina had his entire body in knots and he wasn't she if he liked that- the female had way too much power over him already. he shook his head again, sending droplets of water flying everywhere. his narrowed gaze locked on the white, gray and light blue tiles of the bathroom- his anger, confusion, rage and frustration growing with each passing second. why couldn't she just see his point in this?! why couldn't he just tell her what he was?! what exactly was he anyways?....whatever the agency needed him to be. he was an assassin, a spy, a murderer, a general in their army- he was the perfect soldier. keyword- was. he wasn't anymore, not since he had met katrina. katrina had given him life, though he still enjoyed his 'job' he hated going on long missions if that meant being away from katrina for that long. he hated spy missions, especially since it required him to very nearly cheat on katrina every time he left.
she would kill him if she ever found out that he had taken spy missions that had required him to flirt and sometimes even romance other females. this is why spies never really dated outside of missions, things get complicated when they get shipped off on their next mission. he heard somebody coming moments before a soft knock sounded at his door. his mood darkened instantly, given that only two people would know where he was and that would be his handler or katrina...and he didn't know if he could deal with either of them at the moment.
after a moment of brooding, he stepped out of the shower, his shaggy dark hair turning black from the water. shaking his head, again sending droplets of water everywhere...like a dog..he turned the water off and headed for the door. his mind so focused on giving whoever was interrupting him a good talking to...he was oblivious to his own naked body. ripping the door back, his stormy glare met katrina's gaze. seeing katrina there, rather then his handler brought a smirk to hannibal's face.
...so there he was, standing in the door way of the hotel, dripping wet and wearing nothing but a smirk.
suddenly, his smirk faded as he realized exactly what was going on. turning quickly, he went into the room- looking for something to cover up with, "come in, katrina." he called over his shoulder. turning into the bathroom, he wrapped a towel around his hips, tying it so it would stay in place. he came to stand in the middle of the room again, this time donning a towel- but nothing else. seeing katrina's own confused expression, he sighed, motioning to the bed so that she could sit down. "i suppose we have to discuss this sometime. i am sorry for the way i acted earlier. i was....cold. " his gaze dropped in his newfound shame for treating her the way he had earlier. he had forced the thoughts out of his mind until now, and now he could see what a total ass he had been. "you need to know something. i am part of something that is top secret- there are a lot of things i cannot discuss with you. and there are a lot of times that i will have to disappear for unknown amounts of time- no questions asked. you cannot ask questions either- i cannot tell you anything. i can only tell you that what i do is very dangerous and the chances that i will never return are very high. which is why i can-" he broke off, refusing to start the arguement all over again. his stormy blue-gray gaze turned on her once again. "katrina. i. cannot. answer. your. questions." he ground out...hoping that she would understand.

The hotel was prestigious. Nothing was too good for the Agency’s finest agents. Kaia paused at the large French doors for just a moment to look up at the topmost story – it had to be around two-hundred feet above her head! – then she continued through the glass doors.
She didn’t relish this task, the one she was about to perform. She also didn’t see why the Agency had chosen to do this. Out of everybody, they had to put her and him together for this mission.
Of course, that was a lie. She knew why. They were the best. They could get in and out, no complications, no exposure. Quiet, cunning, quick on their feet. They were the perfect pair. Or that’s what they should have been. With all their history, exclusive details evading the Agency’s knowledge, she wondered if they’d be able to handle working this close again. To be honest, she didn’t really care to find out, but orders were orders.
She hadn’t seen Hannibal in six months. Not since they ran into each other at the Agency. Literally. They’d said little to each other, merely muttering apologizes and rushing off to wherever they’d been headed before. Or at least, she had. She hadn’t bothered looking back to see what he did. Perhaps he had paused to look back at her as she hurried away. But then again, that wasn’t Hannibal Lector’s style. Before that, the last time they’d spoken, or seen each other for that matter, had been another six months previous. And here she was now, standing at his door.
Kaia could hear his voice inside, talking to someone. She couldn’t tell what he was saying, but he sounded exasperated, defeated, strained. She didn’t hear another voice, but she heard the sheets on the bed rustle as whoever he was speaking to sat down. She guessed it was a girl, because she sounded small, and because, really, who else would it be? Same old Hannibal. she reflected, betraying no conflicting emotion even in her thoughts. Kaia had learned long ago that they weren’t worth the fuss.
She waited, wanting to choose the right moment to enter. With any luck, it’ll be at the most inopportune time, and she’ll leave him speechless. She’d always loved her ability to do just that, and the set up was perfect for it. He had no way of knowing what the Agency had done. He’d been avoiding his handler’s calls, and anyway, the Agency had only decreed their partnership this morning during a split-second emergency classified meeting that not even she had been aware of. It had only been chance that they’d gotten to her first, her having been in the building at the time.
The girl took a deep breath and tucked a lock of blonde hair behind her ear, not entirely ready to be forced to accept Hannibal back into her life. But she had no other options. It couldn’t be avoided; it had to be done. She exhaled, squared her shoulders, and let her eyes slip into their familiar expressionless, almost icy state. Kaia reached her clenched hand up to the door and rapped on the wood briskly, three times.
After a minute, she heard the door click and swing open to reveal Hannibal Lector, his black hair sopping wet, and dressed in nothing more than a towel. She glanced over his shoulder pointedly at the girl perched on the edge of his bed, then up into his dark eyes. “Hello, Hannibal.”

Kat was speechless when she walked in, and hadn't said a word when he began talkign to her. She couldnt help but suppress a slight giggle at seing him in all his nude glory, plus towel. She sat down and listened to him, keeping her thoughts to herself until he was finished. She was still silent, trying to figure out what to say.
"I think.. I understan-" she began to say before the door opened and in walked in another girl. Automatically Katrina was on guard, completely caught unawares by this new chick. She hadn't even heard her coming, which was the scary part. She had almost had drawn her dagger, when he other spoke. After an awkward moment, katrina couldn't believe it. She had to be a .. coworker of something, nothing else... or was she?
"Hannibal? Who's that?" she asked in a shocked tone. She looked the girl over, and she was in fact quite pretty.. pretty enough to try and take Hannibal from her. Which brought up Katrina's suspicions that he was in fact having an affair. She looked from her to him, her fustrations mounting as the silence continued.

good. she understood what he was saying and by the looks of it she was going to agree with him or at least stop attacking him with questions that he couldn't answer. for a moment, hannibal was speechless- emotions taking his thought process away completely. this could work, they could work things out again when he got back. he felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from his chest and he could finally breathe again. grinning, he had been prepared to finish off where they had began in the park.
until his thoughts had been stopped again by someone knocking at the door. growling and grumbling the entire way, he made his way through the hotel room to open the door. nearly ripping the door from its frame, answering the door with a dark scowl. "what the hell do you- kaia." his voice turning from a dark warning to a surprised murmur. he hadn't seen the female in months and hadn't talked to her since he....since he was leaving for a mission.
he stood in a stunned silence, but before he could offer an appropriate greeting kaia took a step into the hotel room. he had been so surprised that he forgot to hold the towel that had been riding on his hips- letting the plush fabric fall to the ground. so...once again, he stood naked at the door.
after another moment, he shook his head, clearing his throat he snatched the towel from the carpet and wrapped it around his waist again- though to his credit he didn't blush. clearing his throat again, he coughed before turning his gaze back to kaia.
"and to what do i owe this visit, kaia?" he questioned gruffly. but before he could add anything else, katrina spoke up- making hannibal cough again. in the chaos of his thoughts, he had almost forgotten that he left her sitting there alone and probably really confused by now. turning to face katrina, he shrugged.
"katrina, this is kaia. she's my- uh- ex girlfriend."
so there he stood, in nothing but a towel, with his current and his ex girlfriend facing each other in a hotel room. well this was awkward. "i'm going to let you two get......aquainted. i should probably get dressed." with that, he disappeared into the bathroom, searching for his clothes that he had placed here before getting distracted from his shower. though, knowing kaia, he kept a close ear on what was going on in the bedroom...ready to stop the conversation if she even came close to admitting anything about the agency. hannibal had a tendency to date agency girls....more than half of the females working for the agency in fact- but he'd rather have katrina oblivious to that fact.

OCC// Ha. I was letting the music on my computer play while I was reading that last post and it was on the song ‘Tremble for my Beloved’ by Collective Soul and right as Hannibal opened the door and realized it was Kaia the introduction to the song, which is about 15 seconds or so into it and frankly sounds kind of like “Green Tambourine”, started playing and it was awesome. Totally perfect for the awkward moment. xD
Hannibal’s face was priceless. Almost worth being forced to work together on this assignment. Almost. She crossed her arms over her chest and, without waiting for an invitation, stepped into the room, the only bit of emotion emanating from the girl being the slight, amused smirk that had played across her lips. As Hannibal leaned away, his eyes still wide in surprise, his hand temporarily forgot what it was suppose to be doing, which happened to be to hold up to plush towel wrapped around his waist. The white fabric fell to the ground, and there Hannibal stood before her, stark naked.
This was almost too much! Kaia loved the effect she had on him, and inwardly, she relished that her power over him hadn’t faded despite their year of silence. However, the thing Kaia was not as pleased to realize was that it seemed that he still held a certain power over her as well. Her dark eyes raked his body, tracing the lines she had once known so well. The only thing about him that seemed to have changed was now he had a dark scar running down his forearm and a shallow slit, barely longer than an inch, across his throat, already clean and beginning to heal. She would never admit it, but seeing him now made her feel that familiar longing. It also drug up old memories that she’d had to work hard to forget.
She raised her eyes to meet his gray gaze and held them there. He was the first to break away. He shook his head, droplets of cold water flying in all directions, and stooped to pick up his towel as he cleared his throat gruffly. He looked up to catch her eyes again, but by then she’d moved on to study the girl sitting on his bed. She was tiny. Easily a foot shorter than her, and two shorter than Hannibal. Her hand brought Kaia’s attention to the dagger at her side. She looked as though she was contemplating drawing it. She stared back at Kaia in confusion. “Hannibal? Who’s that?” she asked, her voice suspicious, making it obvious what she was thinking.
“And to what do I owe this visit, Kaia?” Hannibal asked simultaneously, then cringed as if he’d forgotten that the other girl was there. He cleared his throat again and introduced her. ”Katrina, this is Kaia. She’s my… uh… ex-girlfriend.”
Kaia smirked again. “I guess that’s one way to put it.” In technical terms, that’s exactly what she was. But in truth, she was so much more. Even now. She could tell by the way he stood, his shoulders stiff, and the tense atmosphere that filled the room. A flustered, awkward feeling rolled off Hannibal in waves. The man excused himself to put on something a little more decent than a towel and turned to go.
“Hurry back.” Kaia warned in a commanding yet sickeningly sweet voice, her mustang eyes returning to the girl – Katrina – on the bed. A few seconds ticked by in the silence. Who was this girl? What did she mean to Hannibal? She hardly looked eighteen. What are you thinking Hannibal? She’s jailbait if nothing else! Not that Hannibal would get caught. He never got caught. Well… hardly ever. She smiled knowingly, her eyes still frosty. “Hope I didn’t interrupt anything.” she said in the sweetest voice she could muster. She could care less if Hannibal was with a girl, seriously or otherwise. Kaia just enjoyed the idea of making things difficult for him.
