Blood rushed to her head though it did nothing, she was hanging upside down, holding tightly onto the chains that bound her wrist and had her hanging from the ceiling. How she’d ended hanging from a ceiling? She had no idea. She’d flipped herself so that she was upside down, looking at the shackles, glaring at them with cold grey eyes. The room was too brightly lit for her to call on the shadows for there was none to call upon.
A growl left the girls lips, her fangs showed for a brief moment. Her eyes closed as she flipped herself suddenly to hang the right way up, the chains snapped and she fell to the ground, landing silently on the ground.
Now that she was on the ground she could tell how high up she’d been, 50ft, no wonder she’d nearly kicked off the ceiling. She rolled her eyes, walking over to the door, she kicked it and sent it flying into the wall opposite, shocking the guards on either side of it.
A smirk rolled onto her lips, there was shadows here. The shadows struck, pinning them to the walls while the girl walked over and struck a pressure point on their necks. “Too easy,” she muttered in a sweetly dark voice. Taking her shades from the guards along with her gloves and katana, she looked around. “Which way to go… Left or right? Is that all? How boring…” Her shades were slipped over her cold grey eyes as she walked. Her katana was attached to her belt and her metal backed black leather gloves were slipped onto her delicate hands.
Each guard she passed fell to the ground before she could even see that she was there, she stopped as footsteps reached her ears, whoever it was going to block off her path, inconsiderate little person. She waited, the one who would block her path moved into her sights, her head was bowed and her black hair hid her face from view. Looking up suddenly through her hair, she saw this weak one who would try to stop her.
He froze under her gaze, jumping when she appear mere inches from him. “Step out of my way and I won’t have to harm you cause I really don’t want to, you have so much to live for, please move,” she whispered as she looked at him through her shades. He was still frozen to the spot, so young and scared.
A gentle sigh left the girls lips, her pale hand moved to her shades as she removed them. Her grey eyes looked into his. She really didn’t want to hurt him, he looked so familiar, like someone she’d met before. “I nearly don’t wish to harm you so please move…” Cade pleaded, looking at him.
“Please… Tell me your name…” the boy asked, looking into her eyes. Cade looked at him, silently trying to figure out why he was familiar to her.
“I’m Cade, and you’re the one who was sent to retrieve me right?” Cade had replaced her shades, hiding her eyes, she looked over to the side without saying another word.
“I’m Kieran,” he said softly, his dark hair fell across his right eye, his eyes were the same colour as hers as was the colour of his hair.
Cade looked at him out of the corner of her eyes, Caleb, that was who he reminded her of. Her twin, her brother and other half. Like her mother before her she’d found someone she felt the need to protect. She looked down. “Come with me,” he seemed more surprised by her speaking those words than her appearance.
He had no idea what to say to her words, he was shocked to the core but replied with a shy nod, this was a vampire and one who’d knocked the others out, what else could he say. Cade looked at him in time to see his nod, she walked past him with a graceful stride.
Kieran walked behind her, he was turning his back on the cult that had given him a reason for living to go with this women he’d only just met, a vampire who was known for being intolerant of those who annoy her.
Cade was already in her car when he left the building, it was a sleek black Lamborghini Diablo. “Get in then Kieran,” Cade quickly started the engine, Kieran joined her in the passenger seat. He quickly belted himself in as she already was.
“You can put some music on if you want,” she said softly, looking over at him as she started drove the car away from the building. Kieran looked at her for a moment then slowly nodded as he flicked through her cd, the music made him smirk, heavy metal and other types but they were still the same.
“Just hear me out If it's not perfect I'll perfect it till my heart explodes I highly doubt I can make it through another of your episodes Lashing out One of the petty moves you pull before you lose control You wear me out But it's all right now Lets go home and get stoned We could end up makin love instead of misery Go home and get stoned Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me You wear me out (We could end up making love instead of misery) But it's all right now Without a doubt The break up is worth the make up sex you're givin me Lets hash it out Cause your bitchin and your yellin don't mean anything Don't count me out I can handle all the baggage that you're carrying You wear me out But it's all right now Let's go home and get stoned We could end up makin love instead of misery Go home and get stoned Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me You wear me out (We could end up makin love instead of misery) But it's alright now Lets go home and get stoned We could end up makin love instead of misery Go home and get stoned Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me Go home and get stoned We could end up making love instead of misery Go home and get stoned Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me You wear me out (We could end up makin love instead of misery) But it's all right now (Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me) Lets go home and get stoned Lets go home and get stoned Lets go home and get stoned We could end up makin love instead of misery Go home and get stoned Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me Go home and get stoned We could end up making love instead of misery Go home and get stoned Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me You wear me out (We could end up makin love instead of misery) But it's all right now (Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me) Lets go home and get stoned Lets go home and get stoned Lets go home and get stoned.”
Kieran laughed, Cade was singing along to it. She looked at him. “Don’t laugh at my singing,” Kieran noticed her voice was sweeter than what he expected from a vampire.
“I’m not…I’m not laughing at your voice, it’s beautiful, it’s just the song,” he blushed and Cade smiled for the first time since meeting him in the hall of the building.
The next song was also one Cade and Kieran both knew and neither could resist the urge to sing along.
“Getadelt wird wer Schmerzen kennt Vom Feuer das die Haut verbrennt Ich werf ein Licht In mein Gesicht Ein heisser Schrei Feuer frei!
Bäng bäng! Bäng bäng!
Geadelt ist wer Schmerzen kennt Vom Feuer das in Lust verbrennt Ein Funkenstoss In ihren Schoss Ein heisser Schrei Feuer frei!
Bäng bäng! Bäng bäng! Feuer frei! Bäng bäng! Bäng bäng! Feuer frei!
Gefährlich ist wer Schmerzen kennt Vom Feuer das den Geist verbrennt (Bäng bäng!) Gefährlich das gebrannte Kind Mit Feuer das vom Leben trennt Ein heisser Schrei (Bäng bäng!) Feuer frei!
Dein Glück Ist nicht mein Glück Ist mein Unglück Dein Glück Ist nicht mein Glück Ist mein Unglück
Bäng bäng! Bäng bäng! Feuer frei! Bäng bäng! Bäng bäng! Feuer frei!
Bäng bäng! Bäng bäng!
Feuer frei!!
Bäng bang!”
Cade had her eyes on the road, she had her licence in the glove compartment so being pulled over wasn’t a problem but she didn’t trust human drivers, she never had.
“Tell me something Cade, why spare me?” he asked as he looked at her.
“You remind me of someone I knew once, he meant a lot to me,” Cade spoke quietly as she parked and stopped the engine before getting out of the car, Kieran followed quickly behind her. She was walking over to people though when he saw them properly he realised they weren’t human but other vampire.
“Mother, Hell, this is Kieran,” Cade smiled at the two, they both looked at Kieran who shifted uncomfortably under their gaze, the male was rather intimidating as was the women. “Neither of you are to eat him, he’s my human,” her hand slipped into his as she looked over at him.
“Already sweetheart, I’m taking it your going for a walk?” it was Calamity who spoke, the 3700 year old vampire who appeared but 18.
“Calamity you state the obvious sometimes, really you do,” it was Hell who spoke this time.
Cade laughed at the two. “Yes, I’ll see you two later,” she kissed both of their cheeks then walked away with Kieran.
“Cade…” Cade stopped and looked at Kieran, she kissed his cheek to calm him.
“Relax love, no harm shall come to you while I’m around,” she whispered softly, affectionately though it was clear she didn’t really love him, merely very affectionate towards this human. “You remind me of my brother, he like you, you look the same,” she whispered softly as she looked at him.
Kieran looked at her and nodded slowly as they walk though the alleys together, Cade was clearly deep in thought so Kieran didn’t disturb her. They walked for a while in silence, she’d had a lousy week to say the least but she’d been distracted by memories and thoughts.
Kieran watched her grow lost in her thoughts, she was such a curious thing, not really curios but more that she invoked curiosity. He stopped suddenly, someone else was there. Cade looked over her shoulder suddenly, she knew they were there too.
